Senior Data Scientist

SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST – INSURANCE INDUSTRY

Under the supervision of the Managers of the team, the data scientist will be involved in the following activities: 

• Develop machine learning algorithms, as well as traditional statistical models, in order to gather actionable business insights;
• Explain and synthesize sophisticated data patterns and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences;
• In collaboration with the engineering team, implement data pipelines;
• Participate in projects with clients, from CRIF office and from clients;

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• PhD or Master’s Degree in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, quantitative economics, econometrics or a similar quantitative field.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoos, etc.).
• Deep understanding of fundamentals of statistics and machine learning (sampling theory, inference and interpretation, model validation, regression and classification techniques, etc.).
• At least 5 years of working experience in providing advanced analytics to a variety of business situations (i.e. pricing modeling, optimization, segmentation, cross/up-sell, fraud prediction, churn prediction, etc). A previous experience of 3 years in Insurance, either direct or as a consultant, is mandatory.
• High level proficiency in Office suite, especially Excel.
• GIS skills are highly valued.
• Experience with cloud resources (AWS in primis), usage of IDE (pycharm, visualbasic) and version control systems (git) are highly valued.

A good command of written and spoken English is required
